Nigeria: One dies, three injured as explosion rocks Lagos gas station

A gas explosion occurred at Julee Gas Station in Lagos, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to three others. The incident took place during the early hours of Thursday. The cause of the explosion was identified as the process of trans-loading gas from a truck into the plant’s surface tank.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, along with other emergency response agencies, promptly responded to the scene. The injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The fire service received 251 emergency calls in January, indicating the importance of prioritizing fire safety precautions, especially during the harmattan season. The Lagos State Government is intensifying its fire safety awareness campaign and urging the public to report any fire incidents promptly.
