According to the Israeli Army, the Gaza war will continue throughout 2024.
The Israeli military spokesman, Daniel Hagari, stated that some army reservists would get a break from the war to prepare for the prolonged fighting ahead. The conflict has resulted in dozens of deaths in the Palestinian territory, with heavy artillery fire pounding Hamas-run Gaza.
The UN has reported that 85% of the population in Gaza has been displaced due to the war. The situation in Gaza is dire, with shortages of food, water, fuel, and medicine. Israel has vowed to destroy Hamas and has launched a punishing offensive, causing widespread destruction and casualties.
The fighting is expected to last for months until Hamas is eliminated and the hostages are returned. International mediators are working towards a new ceasefire, and there are concerns that the war in Gaza could escalate into a broader regional conflict.
