His family has reported that fighting in eastern Ukraine resulted in the death of a British man.

Samuel Newey, a 22-year-old from Solihull, had been chipping in as a warrior in Ukraine for over a year prior to he was killed.

Daniel Newey, his brother, wrote in a Facebook post, ” My younger sibling Sam was killed in real life yesterday in Eastern Ukraine.

“I can’t adequately articulate how broken I feel. Additionally, I cannot overstate how proud I am of my younger brother. When he made the decision to answer the call and travel to Ukraine to fight back against Russian imperialism, he had just turned 21.

He continued: Sam you gave your life for individuals you never knew and acted with boldness, profound quality and honor. Not exclusively are you my younger sibling, however you’re an uncommon man, a decent warrior and quite possibly of the most courageous individual I at any point had the honor of knowing.”

The YPG (individuals’ security units) were upheld by western nations in the fight against Islamic State in Syria. The questionable preliminary imploded at the Old Bailey in July 2020 after the Crown Arraignment Administration deserted the case.

Newey is the latest Briton to be killed in Ukraine. Others have died fighting Russian forces in the Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk in June, including 38-year-old Blackburn resident Simon Lingard and Jordan Gatley.

Scott Sibley, 36, passed on in late April in Mykolaiv after a robot dropped mortars on his regiment and Craig Mackintosh, from Norfolk, was killed while chipping in as a doctor in Ukraine in August.
