Nigeria: Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with Disappearance and Death of Missing Edo Girl

Two suspects are currently in custody of the Edo State Police Command following the disappearance and death of Miss Faith Omodon, a 200-level undergraduate of Delta State University of Science and Technology, Agbor. The incident occurred in Iru Egbede community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State.

According to reports, the community residents reported the sudden disappearance of Miss Faith Omodon on She was last seen leaving home on a motorcycle to go to the farm. The incident coincided with the community’s national conference.

The father of the missing girl, Edward Omodon, expressed his shock and anguish over the disappearance of his daughter. He mentioned that she had left for the farm in the morning, taking her breakfast with her.

However, it was revealed that the community’s vigilante group arrested two suspects in connection with the disappearance. The suspects were apprehended after the phone of the deceased was traced to them.

Donald Isioma, the National Youth Chairman of Iru-Egbede, confirmed the arrest of the suspects. He mentioned that one of the suspects, who is a member of the community, confessed to killing the girl during interrogation at the Okpaihe Police Station. The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Benin.

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, stated that he had not received information about the arrest but promised to provide an update after contacting the SCID.

The investigation into the disappearance and death of Miss Faith Omodon is ongoing, and the community awaits justice for the tragic loss.
