Nigeria: Lagos police seize N13m Indian hemp

Along Mushin, Isolo Road in the Isolo area of Lagos State, the Lagos State Police Command has seized N13 million in suspected Indian hemp from two men.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, issued a statement on Monday stating that Fidelis Otiga, 49, and Chukwuma Kennedy, 50, transported the illegal drugs on Wednesday in a Toyota Sienna with the number plate KJA 118 HV.

He said the things were recuperated at 12 PM when they were come by cops from the Aswani Police Division during a standard pause and-search out and about.

The assertion read to some degree, “The capture happened on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, around 11.56pm during a standard pause and-search, prompting the capture of Fidelis Otiga and Chukwuma Kennedy matured 49 and 50 separately, in whose vehicle the medications were found.

“The unlawful medications with a road worth of N13m were being conveyed in a Toyota Sienna vehicle with number plate KJA 118 HV.

“The suspects and exhibit have since been moved to the command headquarters for additional investigation and prosecution,” the statement reads.

The assertion cited the state Magistrate of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, as repeating his obligation to battling drug abuse and maltreatment in the state while guaranteeing occupants of their wellbeing.
