Nigeria: Court arrests four for fraud as EFCC captures 33 suspects

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said it had gotten prison terms for four web fraudsters through a State High Court sitting in Benin, Edo State capital and captured 33 suspects for a comparable offense in the city.

On Tuesday, the anti-graft agency issued separate statements via its Twitter handle, @officialEFFCC, stating that Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of the State High Court found Belebi Koko, 22, Igwe Favour, 22, Destiny Igwe, 24, and Ojo Jolly, 25, guilty and handed down sentences.

“Equity Ikponmwonba indicted and condemned Favor, Igwe, Koko and Sprightly to three years detainment with a choice of N200,00 as a fine,” the commission composed.

In the mean time, the EFCC in a different explanation on Tuesday added that its agents in Benin Zonal Order captured Timothy Odion, Predetermination Otokhune, Splendid Akhabue, Isaac Eghosa, Philip Anderson, Kennedy Osagie, Kabiru Mohammed, Erharuyi Osaigbovo, Amalawa Kingsĺey, Obasohen Kelvin and Emmanuel Imuentinyan.

Others are Eghosa Osadebamwen, Akhere Fate, Evans Jesse, Kazeem Samson, Luma Kayode, Festus Iyenfunmwena, Osagie Emmanuel, Chinoso Okoye, Michael Okoh, Yadina Chukwudi, Kelvin Amenze, Aikorogie Osarenmweda and Samuyi Ajayi.

Different suspects are Sylvester Blessed, Ekhator Osamudiamwen, Oneh Perseverance, Etinosa Ogieva, Brilliant Osawaru, Akhere Jeffrey, Oweka Augustine, George Festus and Fortunate Junior.

The agency also said that six exotic cars, mobile phones, and laptops were taken from the suspects when they were arrested.
