Nigeria: FCT Police Thwart Child Trafficking, Rescue Minors By Luminous Jannamike, Abuja

The FCT police have successfully halted a child trafficking scheme, saving five minors from potential harm. Two suspects, Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, were apprehended on April 27, 2024, at Kagini Junction, Abuja, while attempting to transport the children into the Federal Capital Territory. The rescued minors, aged 6 to 12, have been handed over to the Sokoto State Police Command for further investigation and reunification with their families. Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, emphasized the commitment to combatting child trafficking and urged vigilance among parents and guardians. The suspects are in custody and will face charges upon completion of investigations. The FCT command urges residents to report any suspicious activities, underscoring its dedication to ensuring the safety of all residents.
