Nigeria: Four herbalists jailed for stealing 38 million naira from nude video of former lecturer

Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State has jailed five persons for allegedly receiving a total of N38 million from former Judge Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State. He received a total of N38 million from the former Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye, after his nude video went viral. Regarding his nude video that became a hot topic.

Recall that sometime in 2018, Owoeye’s 13-second nude video of him went viral on the internet.

In the video, Mr. Owoeye was approached by some people and accused of coming to their community to perform a ritual.

The Osun State Police Command has arrested the persons featured in the video for allegedly using the video to loot about N38 million from Owoeye before it was released online.

Convicts Kazeem Agbiaka, Rasheed Ojonla, Babatunde Oluajo, Adebiyi Kehinde, Femi Oseniyi and Oyebanji Oyeniyi were indicted in October 2018 on five charges bordering on conspiracy: advance fee fraud and cyberstalking. He was arraigned in court on the 19th.

Justice Ayo-Emmanuel, who handed down the verdict in the case, said the prisoners were acting like a web syndicate, exposing the victims to hardship and therefore did not deserve leniency.

He then found them guilty and sentenced Agbiaka, Oyeniyi, Ojonla and Oluajo to five years’ imprisonment for conspiracy and advance fee fraud.

However, the judge released Ismaila Azeez and acquitted him because the charges were close to cyberstalking, but he also found Oseni guilty of the same crime and sentenced him to five years in prison.
