Two persons, Joy Chigozie and Musa Salihu, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with a gang rape incident at Airport Road in Kirikiri Local Government Area of ​​the state.

A 29-year-old victim was lured by one of the gang-rape suspects (who is still at large) to a shop allegedly owned by her aunt, where she was forced to drink alcoholic substances until she became intoxicated.

It was further discovered that the man, with the help of her alleged aunt, took her to her room where he and five other men had forced sex with her one after another. did.

It was also revealed that her men blindfolded her and threatened to kill her if she did not comply with their demands.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundane told our correspondent that Chigozie, 56, and one of the rapists were arrested and are currently being interrogated.

Mr Hundein said: “At around 10:30pm on Monday, 28-year-old Rosemary reported to Airport Road Kirikiri Station that she had met a man (who has now been released) at around 4pm on October 29, 2023. ), took her to a kiosk to buy alcohol.

“The man introduced the 56-year-old woman as his sister.

“The man continued to meet with the woman and took her to a location where she met five other men inside. They threatened to kill her and blindfolded her with a cloth.

“We further narrated that they had sexual intercourse with her one after the other.

Hundeyin stated that police detectives were deployed to the location of the kiosk and the woman was arrested, her kiosk searched but nothing incriminating was found.

“Immediately the case was reported, police detectives and the Family Support Unit swung into action. The said woman was arrested, her kiosk was searched but nothing incriminating was found.

“However, one of the principal suspects, Musa Salihu, aged 26 years old, was arrested at the scene of the crime.”

According to the Lagos PPRO, the survivor will be taken to the Mirabel Hospital Ikeja for tests, and the case will be transferred to the Gender Section Ikeja for discreet investigation.

“The survivor will be taken to the Mirabel Hospital Ikeja. The investigation is ongoing with efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

“The case will soon be transferred to the Gender Section, Ikeja for discreet investigation,” he said.
