Osun NSCDC arrests 5 people on charges of energy theft

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps on Monday paraded a private school teacher, identified only as John, and five others for allegedly tampering with electricity meters to consume free energy.

Other suspects paraded include Jay Abayomi, Abidemi Enoku, Jackson Imkodlo, Adeleke Fatima and Azeez Mutiu.

Commandant Sunday Agboola, who introduced the suspects to newsmen at the NSCDC Headquarters, said the suspects were arrested in Awosuru, Alekwodo, Jaleemi, Ogo-Oluwa and Omigade areas located in Osogbo metropolis.

The NSCDC boss added that the suspects were arrested on October 13, 2023 during a joint operation by his men and Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company officials.
