Qatar has reversed its decision and will now host the business and investment forum proposed by President Bola Tinubu during his visit to the country. This comes after a leaked memo revealed that Qatar had initially declined the forum due to the unavailability of their Minister of Commerce and Industry. The embassy of Qatar in Abuja had also stated that there was no agreement between Qatar and Nigeria regarding the investment forum.

However, in a letter received by the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Qatar apologized for rejecting the proposed visit and confirmed that the business parley will be held during Tinubu’s visit. The Nigerian Presidency clarified that the investment forum was just one of several events planned for the President’s state visit to Qatar and emphasized that the Qatari government did not snub Tinubu.
