On Christmas Day, a tragic accident unfolded on the bustling Lagos-Ibadan expressway, leaving two individuals dead and one with injuries. The incident occurred opposite the AP filling station, and Mrs. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, provided details of the unfortunate event.

The collision involved a Toyota bus with the registration TSE 266 XA and a Mazda bus marked FKJ 215 XX, taking place at approximately 5:20 p.m. The primary causes identified by Okpe were speeding and wrongful overtaking, factors that often contribute to road accidents.

A total of 15 individuals, comprising 12 men and three women, were involved in the accident. Tragically, two lost their lives, while one person sustained injuries. The injured individual was promptly transported to Idera Hospital in Sagamu for medical attention, while the deceased were respectfully deposited in the hospital’s morgue.

Anthony Uga, the state Sector Commander, expressed condolences to the affected families and emphasized the need for motorists to exercise caution on the roads. He advised against speeding and urged drivers to maintain maximum attention while behind the wheel. The FRSC spokesperson encouraged anyone seeking additional information about the crash to contact FRSC Sagamu.
