Nigeria: Police in Ekiti State apprehend two individuals

The police in Ekiti State have apprehended two individuals, Taiwo and Kehinde Olasoji, who are twins, along with Funke Afolayan and Nnaji Aroh, for their involvement in burglary and receiving stolen goods. The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Mr. Adeniran Akinwale, revealed that the twins were arrested on April 29 while attempting to break into a shop in Ado Ekiti.

During the interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime. They admitted to burgling three shops in Fayemi Market at Agric Olope, Ado Ekiti, where they stole two bags of rice, two bags of beans, and other valuables worth N936,750. Following further investigation by the command’s Rapid Response Squad, Afolayan Funke and Nnaji Benignus Aroh were also arrested for allegedly receiving stolen property from the suspects.

The police commissioner stated that the suspects will be arraigned in court to face charges related to their criminal activities. This is not the first time the police in Ekiti State have made arrests in connection with burglary cases. In a previous incident, a burglary suspect was apprehended for stealing iron rods from a store at the Ekiti airport.

The police are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or incidents to the nearest police station. It is essential for the community to work together with law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of the area.
