Nigeria: Hoodlums Set Anambra Police Station Ablaze in Failed Attempt to Free Inmates

In a shocking incident, unidentified assailants targeted the police divisional headquarters in Nneni, located in the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State. Under the cover of darkness, these hoodlums infiltrated the facility and unleashed a series of explosive devices, resulting in significant damage to the building.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers were allegedly attempting to free some inmates held at the facility. However, their plans were foiled by the courageous actions of the police officers on duty, who valiantly repelled the attack.

The spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident. He reassured the public that no lives were lost during the attack and that no police personnel were taken hostage. Instead, the hoodlums resorted to throwing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) into the police facility, causing a fire that engulfed a portion of the building.
