Nigeria: Dr. Richard Somiari, forensic expert testifies in the alleged murder trial of Chidinma Ojukwu

Dr. Richard Somiari, a forensic expert, testified in the alleged murder trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, revealing that the DNA blood sample found on Chidinma’s red dress matched that of the victim, Michael Ataga, the late CEO of Super TV. The forensic analyst, who has 15 years of experience in forensics, stated that his office received 21 different items for analysis, including the red dress and a DNA sample from Chidinma. He also mentioned that other samples, such as urine, blood, and gastric content, were retained for toxicology reports. The goal of the analysis was to link the suspect to the crime scene and the victim. During cross-examination, the witness clarified that not all forensic reports went through the same procedure.
The trial was adjourned until May 30 for continuation. Chidinma and two other defendants are facing charges related to conspiracy, murder, and theft in connection with the case.
