A strike earlier this week may have resulted in the deaths of up to 100 Russian troops attending a motivational speech near the eastern frontline of Ukraine, angering Russian military bloggers

A number of Russian Telegram channels have been discussing the attack, which they claim took place near Kreminna, an eastern town in the Luhansk region that has been the scene of intense fighting, though the specifics are still unknown and have not been confirmed.

The alleged incident occurred as soldiers were gathered and forced to wait two hours for a speech from the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army divisional commander Sukhrab Akhmedov, who was already a controversial figure who had been blamed for the deaths of many of his troops in an unsuccessful offensive last year.

The Russian military blogger Rybar claimed that the soldiers who were scheduled to go on an offensive had been instructed to gather for a speech.

The tragic incident occurred in one of the divisions about to launch an offensive near Kreminna.

People waited in a crowded area for two hours for the division commander to give a motivational speech. However, Himars and enemy artillery conversed instead.

According to Rybar, there were “fewer casualties in several days of fighting in the south Donetsk direction than from the division commander’s criminal stupidity.”

Immediately, additional military bloggers responded. On the off chance that by the center of the second year of the conflict there are leaders who take the sections to the front, make the staff structure a major pile and afterward trust that the foe’s cannons will hit them, then, at that point, such commandants ought to be shot before the segments, regardless of whether they are colonels or commanders,” said one.

Another person said, “We are at war with our own stupidity and negligence.”

The US thinktank Institute for the Study of War included the strike in its daily update on the conflict, giving it even more credence:
