In a recent development, the Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, has made a significant arrest involving three men linked to the recovery of two suspected human hearts. The principal suspect, Moshood Najimdeen, allegedly engaged the services of Adebanjo Wasiu to obtain these human organs.

Wasiu, who reportedly received a sum of N50,000 for his services, then enlisted the help of Segun Asunni to procure the human hearts. The operation unfolded at the principal suspect’s residence in the Oke-Ola area of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, where the hearts were discovered.

Confirming the arrest, Zone 2 Command’s spokesperson, SP Ayuba Umma, disclosed that investigations are underway. The suspected human hearts have been sent to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for thorough examination and confirmation.

However, during the course of the investigation, Wasiu and Asunni claimed that the recovered organs were, in fact, pig hearts. Wasiu explained, “When Najimdeen contacted me for two human hearts, I told my friend Segun Asunni, who advised that we should deceive him by getting the hearts of two pigs.”

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Muhammed Ali, urges residents to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities in their areas. A commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in Lagos and Ogun States was emphasized by AIG Muhammed Ali.

This arrest sheds light on the need for continued vigilance in communities and the importance of thorough investigations to confirm criminal allegations. The commitment of law enforcement to safeguarding the well-being of residents remains a top priority.
