Nigeria: Ogun So-Safe arrests ex-convict for alleged theft of AC

Ogun So-Safe, the Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps in Ogun State, has reported the arrest of Ezekiel Thankgod, an ex-convict, for the alleged theft of an air conditioning unit in the Ojuore area of Sango, Ogun State. According to the Corps Commandant, Soji Ganzallo, Thankgod was apprehended by So-Safe operatives during a routine patrol in the early hours of Friday.

Thankgod, who resides in a neighboring street to where the theft occurred, confessed to the crime upon interrogation. He also revealed that he had recently been released from a correctional facility . The suspect, a 24-year-old, was caught vandalizing and stealing a Royal Air Conditioner from Covenant Stores in Oju-Ore, Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Thankgod had a history of stealing money and phones and had been previously arrested for similar offenses. Various items, including charms, cowries, and a lighter, were recovered from the suspect. The suspect, along with the recovered items, has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
