OGC Nice’s manager, Francesco Farioli, has provided a crucial update on the condition of Nigeria international, Terem Moffi, ahead of their Ligue 1 clash against Len at the Allianz Riviera Stadium today. Moffi, a significant presence for the team, suffered a hamstring injury before the weekend fixture against Le Havre, raising concerns about his participation in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The club, via their official channels, confirmed Moffi’s absence from the match-day squad due to the injury sustained just hours before the game. The 24-year-old striker has made a notable impact for the team this season, contributing four goals and two assists in 15 appearances.

Moffi’s absence was keenly felt as OGC Nice suffered a 3-1 defeat to Le Havre, marking their second loss of the season. Manager Francesco Farioli, in a statement on the club’s website, shared insights into Moffi’s recovery process.

“We will try to get him. Today he will train with the team; we will see how he reacts. We hope to get him back, but we won’t take any unnecessary risks. If the player feels like it, he will be in the game; otherwise, we will do without,” Farioli stated.

With Moffi included in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, his fitness becomes crucial for the Eagles, especially with Taiwo Awoniyi already ruled out for the tournament.
