Nigeria: How my husband defiled my sister’s granddaughter – Witness

A Prosecution Witness, Olayemi Hosa, testified in the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court about her husband, Olumuyiwa Adjoto, allegedly raping her sister’s six-year-old granddaughter.
The incident occurred in their home in Mowo, Badagry, Lagos in . Hosa explained that the victim had come to spend the Easter holidays with them when the defendant defiled her. She stated that she had left the child at home with her husband while she went to the market. When she returned, she noticed that the girl was unhappy, and later, the child revealed that her husband had sexually abused her. Hosa took the child to a hospital for examination, where the doctor confirmed the abuse. She reported the incident to the police, and the defendant was subsequently arrested. The case is ongoing, and the next trial date is set for March 12, 2024.
