Enugu police capture man with gun in impostors’ conflict

Wednesday the Enugu State Police Command announced that it had made an arrest for a man who was armed during a fight between two Odo Masquerade groups in Aku, which is in the state’s Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area.

DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the command’s spokesman, said this in a statement: “One man was killed during the wednesday clash, and many others, including police operatives deployed to the place, were injured.”

 the conflict was prompted by a conflict between the two gatherings on when to hold the celebration.

But in the statement, the police said that normalcy had been restored and that an investigation into what caused the fight had been started.

 Ndukwe said, “One male suspect has been captured and a gun recuperated from him regarding the conflict between rival bunches in the Aku people group of Igbo-Etiti Neighborhood Government Region over the festival of Odo Disguise celebration on August 29, 2023, around 4:00am

“The episode prompted the shooting and murder of one male casualty and injury of others, including police agents conveyed to quiet the circumstance.”
