ECOSENBO Foundation holds AGM

Ecosenbo Foundation, an association formed by ex-students of Ecole Prescolaire – Elementaire in The Gambia recently held its first-ever Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the school’s premises in Banjul.

The annual confab was attended by several ex-student of the French school both in The Gambia and beyond. The AGM was aimed at adopting the foundation’s constitution and to roll out its strategic plan.

In her opening address, Fatou Kine Ceesay Cole, president for Ecosenbo Foundation, expressed delight to be associated with the event, noting that the presence delegates signify not just a reunion of old friends, but a collective commitment to driving positive change in our society.

“Your presence speaks volume about your dedication to their shared mission of making meaningful contributions to the community. It is through our collective efforts and unwavering commitment that we can truly make a difference.”

Moving forward, president Ceesay Cole urged all members of the institution to actively engage in the activities of the foundation by volunteering and raising advocacy.

She disclosed that every contribution towards the foundation would greatly help in attaining their Sustainable Development Goals.

“Together, we have the power to effect real change and create a brighter future for generations to come,” she said.

Maget Aja Sowe, member of Ecosenbo commended the school and ex-student for their efforts, recalling that her three sisters had passed through the school and are now serving the public.

Pap Saine, co-publisher of The Point Newspaper, commended the school and foundation for recognizing and appreciating his efforts in the development and sustainability of the foundation.

He, however, urged young people to be ready to learn both French and English.

“These two languages are international and therefore, it is very important for one to learn and understand these languages.”

Certificates were also presented to deserving members of the foundation for appreciation of their efforts in the development of both the school and the foundation.
