Works Ministry expresses concern over collection of basalt aggregates

By Sulayman Waan

The Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure has called on residents of Sabakh Sanjal to desist from collecting basalt aggregates at road projects.

A press statement shared to this medium said: “It has come to the attention of the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure and the National Road Authority with dismay that certain people from within catchment areas of LOT 1 of the North Bank Roads in Sabakh Sanjal areas have been found sweeping and scraping basalt aggregates on sides of the recently sealed road network in the area.”

The ministry appealed to the public, most especially nearby communities to desist from such act.

It further urged the public to report any incident of this nature to THE nearest Police Station.

“This activity is unacceptable as it can severely interfere with structural integrity of the road in the long term,” it said.
