In the Mar-a-Lago case, Trump enters a not guilty plea to 37 federal criminal counts. The former president was in Miami earlier in the day for his arraignment in the case involving classified documents. Government investigators have blamed him for wilfully keeping grouped archives and impeding equity, accusing him of 37 bureaucratic counts including 31 infringement of the Undercover work Act.
Trump was granted bail on the condition that he would not discuss the case with a list of witnesses and pleaded not guilty to all charges. Trump has kept a busy schedule of campaign appearances and photo opportunities because he is determined to respond in court of opinion. His campaign informed reporters in Miami that he would be making a stop at a restaurant, where religious leaders and supporters greeted him with prayers and applause.
He carried on with the defiant message he had practiced at previous campaign events, including the weekend following the indictment’s release, in New Jersey. He called the federal charges against him a “political persecution” and made the baseless claim that Biden was the one who orchestrated them. Biden “will forever be remembered as not only the most corrupt president in the history of our country, but perhaps even more importantly, the president who together with a band of his closest thugs, misfits, and Marxists tried to destroy American democracy,” the twice-impeached, twice-indicted president said in a remarkable moment of projection.

He confused the Official Records Act, which he has been blamed for abusing, and shied away from charges over “having my own official papers, which practically every other president has done”. As a matter of fact, the characterized reports are not Trump’s own – the Official Records Act specifies that all official reports have a place with the central government. In addition, no president in recent memory has refused to return large quantities of classified documents.
The escalating tenor of the former president is accompanied by escalating legal issues. A grand jury in Manhattan voted to indict Trump, and local prosecutors filed criminal charges regarding hush money payments to Stormy Daniels last month. In the meantime, Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County in Georgia, is weighing whether to bring criminal charges against him and his associates for allegedly meddling in the state’s elections for 2020.
Trump promised his adoring supporters, “I will appoint a real special prosecutor to go after the most corrupt president in the history of the United States of America Joe Biden.” The deep state will be completely destroyed by me.
Additionally, the Tuesday event was a fundraiser. Politico learned from the Trump campaign that it anticipates raising $2 million at Bedminster. Following his arraignment, an impact to allies publicized “I stand with Trump” Shirts, free with a $47 gift, “show the Secret government and the Left that there’s not an assault on the essence of this planet that can stop this development”.
A poll conducted on Monday by Reuters and Ipsos found that 81% of Republicans thought the federal criminal charges against Trump were politically motivated, and the indictment did not seem to have any effect on Trump’s leading support in the race for the Republican nomination.
