Trust Bank Gambia Limited has recently donated consumable materials worth 2, 000 thousand dalasis, geared towards helping people with mental illness.
The donated items include detergent soaps, packets of toothpaste, wheelchairs, among many other items.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Landing Sanneh spokesperson of the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, thanked the donors for their foresight and philanthropic gesture.
He said the initiative is part of Trust Bank’s corporate social responsibility to compliment government’s efforts. “The mental psychiatric people in this country we believe, have been paid little attention,” he said.
Mr. Trawally, head of Sales and Public Relations at Trust Bank said the strategic objective of the initiative is part of Trust Bank’s mantra to help needy people with mental amnesia.
“This partnership started several years ago. As Gambians whatever we do, we believe it is part of our corporate responsibility,” he remarked.
