Sierra Leone: Accused remanded for alleged robbery with aggravation

Sambu Samura and Foday Sesay were both remanded for alleged robbery with aggravation after they were arraigned before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 4 on Pademba Road in Freetown, on Wednesday 8th January 2020. Both men were charged with robbery with aggravation contrary to Section 23 (1a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, as repealed and replaced. Police allege on Sunday 22nd December 2019, at around Bismark Johnson Street in Freetown, both accused conspired together to commit a felony with aggravation. The police revealed that the accused persons attacked and robbed Emmanuel Junior Turay, a resident of Cape Road, at around Wilkinson Road in Freetown. Turay was robbed off his mobile phone, silver chain, one cross bag which contained some money and other assorted materials. Witnesses are yet to testify. Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura adjourned the matter to 10th January 2020. Both accused persons were sent to the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown.
