President Macky Sall and his wife, the First Lady Marieme Faye-Sall have joined millions of people in Senegal and around the world to mourn the death of an opinion leader, Islamic scholar, activist and journalist Sidy Lamin Niasse, who is also the proprietor of Wal -fadjri Press Group in Senegal. He died today, Tuesday, December 4th, 2018.
Marked by the disappearance of Sidy lamine Niasse, President Macky Sall wrote on Twitter:
“I learned with emotion of the disappearance of Sidy Lamine Niasse, big name of the Senegalese press, active witness of the mutations and the democratic struggles of our society. My compassion to his family, to the Walfadjri group and to the Senegalese press. May he rest in peace. Ameen.”
The First Lady, Marième Faye Sall, posted a post on her Facebook page to express her sadness at this painful event.
“I learned with emotion the disappearance of Sidy Lamine Niass, a great name of the Senegalese press, an active witness of the democratic struggles of our society. My compassion for his family, the Wal Fadjri group and the Senegalese press. May he rest in peace,” said Marieme Faye -Sall.
