The President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, has today, Wednesday, 21st June, 2017,  inaugurated a new ferry named Kunta Kinteh at the Ferry Terminal in Banjul. The new Kunta Kinteh ferry, which is worth  €9.3 M, was purchased during the regime of the former president Yahya Jammeh.

The inauguration took place at a colourful ceremony held at the Banjul Sea Port’s ferry terminal. It was attended by cabinet ministers and several other dignitaries.

The coming of the new ferry is indeed timely and will no doubt boost the country’s economic sector, considering the number of goods, vehicles and passengers it will transport daily. The new ferry which will transport and passengers and vehicles from Banjul to Barra will help ease the transportation difficulties faced by travelers in the area.

Mamos Tv will re-broadcast full details of the inauguration ceremony in our news broadcast at 8pm and 10pm Gambian time respectively.
