Personnel of the Enugu State Police Command, in collaboration with members of the state Neighborhood Watch Group, have neutralized a person believed to be a member of the Eastern Security Network, an armed group of the indigenous people of Biafra.

Security authorities also seized his firearms, ammunition and other exhibits.

The police disclosed this in a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, released on Sunday night.

Mr Ndukwe said the suspects shot and killed security personnel at Igbele village, Amachala Road, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of ​​the state, at about 10.45pm on Saturday when the victim and his group of suspects opened fire on security personnel. It was done.
The police chief said the feat was achieved through a new police strategy developed by the state Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuebu, to rid the state of unrepentant criminals.

He said the personnel involved in the operation were from the Igbo Eze North Police Command and the NPF Special Forces.
