16 Nov Police Capture Traffic Robber Disguised as Beggar on Lekki Expressway

The Lagos State Police Command has officially announced the apprehension of a notorious traffic robber, known as Ali, in the Lekki area. According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ali was captured in the act in Ikate, Lekki, thanks to the collaborative efforts of residents and law enforcement on Tuesday.
Hundeyin revealed that Ali, who disguised himself as a beggar on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, targeted unsuspecting motorists, using threats of violence to rob them of cash and valuables. The Lekki Concession Company Limited, in a separate statement, shared that their security operatives played a crucial role in Ali’s arrest based on intelligence received.
Veronica Jacob, Head of Corporate Affairs, Communications & Marketing at LCC, disclosed that the Chief Security Officer, Solomon Tolafari, received reports from a retired Colonel, leading to the mobilization of the Man ‘O War team. The team successfully apprehended Ali in the Ikate area, where he was engaged in his criminal activities.
The LCC handed over Ali to the Maroko Police Station for further investigation and potential prosecution. The State Police Command emphasized that the suspect would face charges depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
