Elijah Anthony, a 17-year-old student in Plateau State, has been arrested by operatives of the State Police Command for allegedly killing his neighbor’s 5-year-old child after demanding N400,000 ransom from the victim’s parents.

In an interview with Punch Metro, Anthony, who confessed to killing his neighbor’s five-year-old boy, identified as Dawom Pam, said, “They asked (the victim’s) brother to go buy something. But the boy was behind him.” So my friend and I carried the boy and hid him somewhere in an unfinished building.
“The boy’s parents then searched for him and I pretended to join them in the search for the missing child, but I did not take him to where he was hiding.
“He then asked for 5 million naira, but he managed to get 400,000 naira. But five days later, the boy was murdered. “If we let him go, I I killed him because I was afraid he would tell his parents that I kidnapped him.”
He said: They came and arrested me. That’s what drove me to kidnapping and killing. I was planning to write WASSCE this year, but I didn’t. please forgive me.
