03 Nov Passengers survive after commercial bus collides with trailer in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority on Thursday rescued a few passengers after a container-weighted down truck rammed into their business bus with wide variety plate FKJ 366 XT withinside the outer Marina location of the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the sufferers sustained various tiers of accidents withinside the coincidence which befell at approximately 7 a.m.
The Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, LASTMA, Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, stated in a announcement that the coincidence befell due to over-dashing which caused a brake failure.
He stated, “Immediately the coincidence happened, our employees who had been alongside the axis fast moved to the scene to rescue the occupants of the trapped business bus (“driving force and passengers) with the help of sympathetic street users.”
Taofiq showed that policemen from the Lion Building led through the Divisional Crime Officer, furnished safety backup whilst the rescue operations lasted.
According to him, Ashafa Moyosore (Zebra 1, Olowu), who led the rescue operations rescued all of the passengers consisting of the driving force, and had been taken to a close-by clinic for clinical treatment.
“The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, however, warned the motoring public especially business bus drivers to exercising caution, restraint, and cling to the velocity restriction whilst using on Lagos street, in particular at this era of ember months,” he added.
