
Nigeria: Varsity student, others captured for robbing man of N1.5m

A 17-year-old female understudy of the Osun State College, Ikire grounds, Triumph Ehiremen, and her sweetheart, Ayobami Ariyo, were on Wednesday marched before columnists at the state police order central command, Osogbo, for supposedly getting N1.5m from a complainant they baited from Lagos to Osun State.
Introducing the suspects close by others captured in different parts of the state for violations going from connivance to furnished burglary, the state Magistrate of Police, Kehinde Longe, said Ehiremen met the complainant via virtual entertainment a couple of days before the occurrence.
Longe said following quite a while of talking via virtual entertainment, the complainant was welcome to Ikire from Lagos by Ehiremen, who, during the visit, baited him to her beau’s home where he met certain individuals that went after him and moved N1.5m from his financial balance.
“Promptly the case was accounted for, police criminal investigators got the ball rolling and captured one Ariyo Ayobami from his hideaway.
“The two additional accomplices were detained as a result of the preliminary investigation. Endeavors are continuous to capture different guilty parties while the suspects will be charged to court after the fulfillment of the examination,” the police supervisor said.
Yet, while talking with PUNCH Metro, Ehiremen said she didn’t have the foggiest idea about her beau powerfully acquired cash from the complainant, as she was unable to bear it when Ayobami and his companion began beating the complainant when they constrained their direction into the room she was with him.
She added that she met the complainant via WhatsApp and that her boyfriend, whom she claimed to have cheated on the Internet, gave her N40,000 two days after the incident.
Obinna Chibuzo, Igwe Chukwudi, Ogbona Destiny, Eze Nwaze, Olamilekan Samson, and Kola Akinolu were among the others paraded by the police and arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery on the state’s Osu-Ile-Ife Highway.
