Nigeria: Tragic toll: 6 lives lost, 6 injured in Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash

Tragedy struck on Tuesday as six lives were lost and six others sustained injuries in an unfortunate incident at the ‘Car park turning,’ situated across from the Redeemed Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
According to the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in Abeokuta, the accident occurred at 6:05 pm, involving a truck and a Mazda bus with the registration EPE 440 YG. The spokesperson explained that, based on eyewitness accounts, the truck driver attempted a U-turn, leading to a collision with the speeding Mazda bus.
Regrettably, the truck driver fled the scene upon realizing the severity of the situation. The spokesperson mentioned that a total of 15 individuals were involved, resulting in six injuries and six tragic fatalities.
The deceased have been respectfully laid to rest at Idera Morgue in Sagamu and Famobis Hospital in Mowe, while those injured have received medical attention at RCCG and Famobis hospitals.
