The Rivers State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to curb criminal activities in the state. The police have recovered four 20KVA power-generating sets that were seized by a wanted cultist, David Gift, also known as “2 Baba,” from a company. David Gift is a notorious figure who has been linked to a series of violent crimes, including the murder of Late Bako Angbashim, a Superintendent of Police and the Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division.

The 20KVA generators were seized by David Gift from a company that had allegedly failed to pay him a N20 million “matching ground” fee. This fee is an illegal levy imposed on individuals or organizations by cultists. David Gift demanded N5 million for each generator, but the police were able to recover the property and other valuables from his hideout.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Operations, Olubenga Adepoju, expressed the police’s determination to apprehend David Gift and his gang. He emphasized that the police would not tolerate criminal activities in Rivers State and urged anyone with information about David Gift’s whereabouts to come forward.

The recovery of the generators is a significant achievement for the Rivers State Police Command. It demonstrates the police’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of the state’s residents. The police have warned criminals to desist from engaging in illegal activities in Rivers State, as they will face the full force of the law.

In conclusion, the police’s success in recovering the generators from David Gift is a testament to their dedication and professionalism. The police will continue to work tirelessly to bring criminals to justice and maintain law and order in Rivers State.
