During a search of his hideouts in the Khana Local Government Area of the state, the police in Rivers State have arrested the leader of a notorious criminal gang who is simply known as Ojukwu. They also found a human skull during the search.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of two pump-action AK-47 rifles and the human skull.

Dr. Thomas Bari-ere, Chairman of Khana LGA, told reporters in Port Harcourt that the arrest was the result of a tip that the council authority learned about and immediately notified the police.

Dr. Bari-ere said, “We got knowledge data that one of the suspects in police guardianship by the name of Ojukwu has where he stores his arms as well as a human skull.

He uses them to swear to his victims that he will keep their identities a secret.

“So we alarmed the security agents, and the Bori Police Division, close by the counter cultism unit, needed to quickly act.

“The operation went well. A pump action, a human skull, and two AK-47 rifles were found.

while urging the police to expedite the investigation and bring charges against the gang leader.

He urged residents of Khana LGA to assist the police by providing useful information about the hiding places of criminal gangs so that prompt action could be taken.

He stated, “It is one thing to apprehend a criminal; it is another to activate the instrument of the law so that the criminals are made to face the law.”

Grace Iringe-Koko, the State Police Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and recoveries when contacted.

“Yes, the suspect is in our (police) custody, and the items, arms, and ammunition investigation is ongoing,” she stated.
