Nigeria: River state exhume police body

By Zuleihat Owuiye, Mamos Nigeria

The Rivers State Police Command in Nigeria has taken action against three of its officers who abducted and extorted $3,000 from two travelers. The officers, including two Assistant Superintendents of Police and an Inspector, were involved in unlawful activities.

They transported their victims to three different states before taking the money from them. The police command has recovered the money and returned it to the victims. The officers will face an orderly room trial and have been issued official queries. The command is committed to upholding integrity, professionalism, and accountability, and this incident does not reflect the values and principles of the police force as a whole.
