The Anambra State Police Command has conducted a successful operation to comb hideouts allegedly belonging to gunmen who specialize in attacking police formations in the state. The operation, carried out by the state police Joint Security Force, took place at the Ogbaru forest in the Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.

During the operation, which lasted several hours, multiple camps were discovered and destroyed, and a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition were recovered. The Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy provided substantial support to the operation, which effectively drove the hoodlums out of their hideouts in the forest.

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra, CP Aderemi Adeoye, commended the military for their unwavering support in the fight against criminality. He also expressed gratitude to the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and various vigilante groups across the state for their collaboration, which has yielded remarkable results in keeping Anambra State safe.

CP Adeoye issued a stern warning to cultists causing unrest in the state capital, stating that their days are numbered. He emphasized that security forces will not sit idly by and allow them to destabilize the state through cult rivalries that result in fatalities.

Overall, the operation was a significant success in dismantling criminal hideouts and recovering dangerous weapons. The Anambra State Police Command, along with the Joint Security Force and other collaborating agencies, remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the state and its residents.
