Nigeria: “Police Capture Notorious Armed Robber for Violent Attack in Abuja”

The FCT Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in apprehending a notorious armed robber responsible for a violent attack on a resident of Kuchigoro, Abuja. The suspect, identified as Attah Godwin, aged 33 and hailing from Kogi State, was apprehended on Sunday, February 25, 2024, around 6:05 pm by police operatives during a routine patrol.

According to the statement released by the FCT Command, the incident unfolded when the suspect assaulted Ogo Chukwuemeka, aged 27, at Berger Mosque in Utako, as the latter was attempting to board a vehicle to Kuchigoro. The armed robber, wielding a knife, stabbed the victim multiple times in the chest and shoulder before making off with his phones and other personal belongings.

The police, upon receiving information about the incident, swiftly responded by initiating a pursuit in collaboration with local residents. Their efforts culminated in the arrest of the suspect, who was found in possession of the stolen items. The victim was promptly taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
