Nigeria: Police begin probe as Rivers woman attempts selling son

The Rivers State Police Command is currently investigating an alleged attempt by a woman to sell her five-year-old son in Port Harcourt.

 The woman reportedly took her son to a popular market in the Mile 3 area of Port Harcourt, where she was confronted by traders who became suspicious of her intentions. The traders took her to the police station, leading to her arrest. The spokesperson for the state police command confirmed the incident and stated that the matter is being investigated to determine the truth of the eyewitness accounts. The woman is currently in police custody. It’s a distressing situation, and it’s important for authorities to thoroughly investigate and ensure the safety and well-being of the child involved.
