Bayelsa Police Apprehend Suspected Killer of Former DPO SP Bako Angbashim
A breakthrough has been made in the case of the beheading of former Divisional Police Officer SP Bako Angbashim in Ahoada Division, Rivers State. Bayelsa State police operatives successfully captured Mr. Onyekachi Ikowa, 43, the second in command to TuBaba of the notorious Icelander cult group. The arrest took place in Yenagoa on November 18, 2023, based on credible intelligence.
Asinim Butswat, the spokesperson for the Bayelsa Police Command, confirmed the arrest, stating that Ikowa had been hiding in Yenagoa after participating in the heinous murder of SP Bako Angbashim in September 2023. Commissioner of Police Francis Iduh has urged police operatives to uncover any cohorts hiding in Bayelsa, emphasizing that the state will not be a sanctuary for criminals.
The arrested suspect has been handed over to the Rivers Police Command for further investigation, marking a significant development in the pursuit of justice for the slain former DPO.
