On Wednesday, a 61-year-old pastor told the Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court that his tenant, Godwin Emmanuel, defiled and impregnated his 16-year-old daughter.

The Lagos State government charged Emmanuel in court with a one-off charge of corruption, but he pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors told the court that Emmanuel is suspected of defiling a pastor’s daughter in Ajanbadi area of Badagry between April and July 2021.

The prosecutor said the crime was in violation of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

After pleading not guilty, prosecutor Abimbola Abbolade invited the priest to testify in court.

Witnesses testified that Emmanuel was acquainted through a real estate agent and was a tenant.

He said that Emmanuel had been acquainted with her for three to four years, and her daughter had identified her pregnancy because she was sleeping with Emmanuel.

“The condom is broken”

“Godwin polluted my daughter and became pregnant at the age of 16.

444″ I reported the incident to the area K police station in Badaguri. I confirmed that I had been sleeping together for a long time.

“My daughter gave birth to a girl with pregnancy,” he said.

During cross-examination by defense lawyer Victor Edet, the priest told the court that he could not remember the exact date on which he reported the incident to the police.

However, he said he later reported the incident to the Domestic Violence Bureau and the Medical Center after the police took no action on his complaint.

Ms. Emanuel’s wife, a nurse, stated that she believed the defendant was the one who got her daughter pregnant after he administered her daughter an abortion drug.

The priest also told the court that his girlfriend’s daughter had told him that the condom she was using during a sex game had broken.

However, the priest added that Ms. Emmanuel told the priest’s daughter to transfer her responsibility to a third party, and she introduced him to that person.

Presiding Judge Abiola Soladoye adjourned further hearing of the case until December 11. (South)
