The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has highlighted the detrimental impact of the non-functional Port Harcourt Refinery on businesses, leading to closures and economic challenges.

Tekena Ikpaki, the newly elected Chairman, emphasized the need for the Federal Government to expedite refinery repairs to alleviate the situation.

The delayed functionality has disrupted the movement of goods and services, affecting various sectors. Despite challenges, the Zonal Chairman expressed optimism about the refinery operating fully in early 2024, urging the executive team to prioritize members’ access to products for sale.
