The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State has apprehended four individuals for operating an illegal refinery in Tafa Local Government Area.

The suspects were found producing Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO) by mixing condemned oil, crude oil, and Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). The NSCDC acted on credible intelligence and discovered production gadgets and materials at the site.

The commandant of NSCDC, Joachim Okafor, stated that the suspects were involved in illegal activities, selling adulterated oil to unaware customers, which could damage their engines.

The suspects will undergo a thorough investigation, and appropriate charges will be filed against them. Okafor advised the public to engage in legitimate businesses and warned against economic sabotage.
