After discovering that their vehicle was littered with bullet holes, officers who are part of the Tafa Division of the Niger State Police Command have taken nine suspected criminals into custody.
At the time of their capture, the suspects were said to be driving a Volkswagen Sharon with the number plate LKJ 739 BJ on the Kaduna-Abuja highway in the Sabon-Wuse Tafa Local Government Area.
The suspects, Mohammed Sani, Hakimi Abdullahi, Aminu Bello, Buhari Abdullahi, Tasiu Abdullahi, Bello Auwal, Kabiru Abubakar, Abdullahi Dabo and Babangida Ibrahim, were promptly captured.
The order’s representative, Wasiu Abiodun, said, “Fundamental examination uncovered that the nine men have some expertise in focusing on and checking broken trucks along Abuja-Kaduna, Keffi-Jos, Nasarawa-Akwanga and Minna-Suleja Streets.
“The organization was found to have been participating in going after and breaking trucks/holders and stealing from things/property contained in that.
“During cross examination, the suspects admitted to the wrongdoing and guaranteed that they have a distribution center at Akwanga where they keep the plunder, while they sell the things in Kano State.
With an offer of N500,000, they attempted to bribe the DPO to end the case later. Every one of the suspects have been captured and moved to the SCID Minna for additional examination.”
