Nigeria: Nasarawa police officers trace vehicle to Taraba, capture two

The Nasarawa State Police Command has captured two suspects for purportedly taking a vehicle in the Lafia Nearby Government Region of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Official, DSP Ramhan Nansel, uncovered this in a proclamation made accessible to writers in Lafia, the state capital, on Sunday.

Nansel made sense of that in the wake of taking the vehicle, the suspects aged 49 and 38 years separately, ran away to Taraba and Level States, however were captured subsequent to meticulous endeavors by police officers joined to the order.

He said, “On July 19, 2023, around 4pm, a grievance was stopped at ‘B’ Division, Lafia that a Toyota Corolla, 2015 model was given to a specialist in Lafia for fixes.

“In any case, the suspect removed the vehicle to an obscure objective and all endeavors to get across to him demonstrated unsuccessful.

“In response to the objection, police criminal investigators appended to ‘B’ Division, Lafia did a broad examination concerning the case.

“Thus, the superb suspect, 49-year old Sani Labaran of Shinge Street, Lafia was followed and captured at Gembu, Taraba State while his assistant, 38-year-old Ibeto Nwobodo of Faringada, Jos was captured in Jos.

“Upon cross examination, the suspects admitted to have contrived to sell the vehicle for N2.5m.”

Nansel added that the state Magistrate of Police, Maiyaki Baba, recognized the officials for a wonderful piece of handiwork and requested that the suspects ought to be charged in court.
