08 Jan Nigeria: “Kano Police Takes Proactive Approach, Invites 52 Suspected Criminal Leaders for Dialogue in Kiru Local Government”

The Kano State Police Command has taken a proactive step towards addressing rising criminal activities by inviting 52 suspected ‘criminal arrowheads’ for a dialogue session in Kiru Local Government Area. In an official statement released by the Command Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, Police Commissioner Mr. Hussein Gumel emphasized the importance of collaboration between critical stakeholders and law enforcement to ensure the security of lives and property within the state.
During a meeting with the Kwanar Dangora community in Kiru, Commissioner Gumel urged the community to work closely with the police in carefully profiling the identified 52 suspected criminals residing in the vicinity. These individuals were pinpointed as key contributors to the escalating insecurity and related criminal incidents in the area.
Following the meeting, Commissioner Gumel personally led a patrol along the Kano/Kaduna expressway, assessing security deployments, identifying manpower gaps, and evaluating the state of police equipment. He expressed gratitude to local government chairmen, district heads, and other key stakeholders for their continuous support, acknowledging their significant role in maintaining peace and security in Kiru, Kwanar Dangora, and the entire state.
Assuring residents of the Police Command’s unwavering commitment to combating crime, Commissioner Gumel pledged to provide a safe and secure environment for everyone across all parts of the state.
In other news, recent events include the tragic capsizing of a boat in the River Niger, resulting in five casualties and the rescue of 30 individuals. Additionally, the police have apprehended two pastors in Ogun and Osun states for alleged defilement.
