Nigeria: Jealous Lagos lady kills pregnant co-wife
Fatima Rahman, 42, of the Chad Republic, has been remanded to the Ikoyi Custodial Center for the alleged murder of Adizat, her co-wife, at her residence in Alejo Street, Ijede, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. Adizat was found dead at the residence.
On Tuesday, Fatima was charged with one count of murder and brought before Magistrate P. E. Nwaka at a Yaba Magistrates’ Court sitting.
When she found out that her husband had married another woman, she was said to have been enraged.
She allegedly stabbed the pregnant woman to death in her residence while pretending to be a nurse.
After extensive wounds were discovered on the deceased’s head and neck, a neighbor who saw her arrive at the residence was said to have indicted her.
The defendant, according to Thomas Nurudeen, the prosecutor, committed the crime on April 9, 2023, approximately 12:40 p.m. at 43, Alejo Street, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The charge read, “That you, Fatima Abdul Rahman, did unlawfully kill one Adizat Abdul Rahman, 28 years old, by stabbing her with a knife and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015 on April 9, 2023, around 12.40 pm, at 43, Alero Street, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State in the Lagos Magisterial District.”
A 42-year-elderly person, Fatima Rahman, from Chad Republic has been remanded to the Ikoyi Custodial Place for the supposed homicide of her co-spouse, Adizat, at her home in Alejo Road, Ijede, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Fatima was summoned on Tuesday before Judge P. E Nwaka at a Judges’ Court sitting in Yaba on one count of homicide.
She was said to have been irate when she discovered that her better half had hitched another spouse.

However, the defendant’s plea was not accepted.
In the interim while the Directorate of Public Prosecution provided legal advice, the prosecutor requested that the defendant be remanded to a custodial center.
Conceding the solicitation, Nwaka remanded her to the Ikoyi Custodial Center forthcoming lawful counsel.
Nwaka additionally dismissed the case till May 25, 2023, for preliminary.
