Nigeria: Injury rules out Boniface from AFCON
By Zuleihat Owuiye, Mamos Nigeria
It is unfortunate to hear that Victor Boniface, the forward for Bayer Leverkusen and the Super Eagles,
will not be able to participate in the African Cup of Nations due to a groin injury. The injury has kept him out of recent games and requires a six-week recovery period.
Boniface has returned to Germany for treatment, and it is expected that the Nigeria Football Federation will announce his replacement for the tournament.
This is another setback for the Nigerian
team, as they have already experienced the withdrawal of midfielder Wilfred Ndidi due to a muscle injury. The team will have to adjust their strategies and lineup in light of these absences.
