Nigeria: In Ogun, a physically challenged man aged 62 was hacked to death

Adetunji Ayaji, 62, a physically challenged man from the Imasayi community in the Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State, reportedly died in his home.

The septuagenarian was supposedly macheted to death on Wednesday by obscure attackers who purportedly broke into his home after his relatives had left for work.

In a statement she released on Thursday, Omolola Odutola, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this incident.

According to Odutola, the victim was killed with a machete around 3: pm on Wednesday and the relatives met his dead body in the pool of his blood upon their return.

“The command received the report of the machete to death of one Adetunji Ayaji, 62 years old, where unknown assailants gained entry into the deceased’s home and murdered him,” she stated.

The unfortunate incident occurred yesterday (Wednesday) around 1500 p.m., when the physically disabled husband and father were left at home while the deceased’s family went about their normal activities.

“His relatives at the end of work, on appearance met Late Adetunji Ayaji dormant in the pool of his own blood.

“The Divisional Wrongdoing Official of Imasayi, the police purview covering the region where the obnoxious demonstration happened on his examination affirmed the report.

“The DCO noticed the buzz line of the departed and was removed. His remaining parts have been emptied to General Clinic Ilaro where Mr. Adetunji Ajayi was affirmed dead, his cadaver was saved at Ilaro General Medical clinic for additional assessments.

The Ogun State Police Command does not have a definitive explanation for this extreme cruelty. Nonetheless, the Chief of Police, Abiodun Alamutu has been informed and he has guaranteed the families that the executioners, savage and horrible disapproved of hoodlums will lament their activities.

He stated, “He assured that justice will be done and that the killers will most certainly not go scot free. However, justice must be done in regard to exposing the unfortunate perpetrators of this height of violence and condemning the senseless killing.”

“The Ogun State Police Order Central command feels for individuals from the families for their mishap and excruciating misfortune, and further guarantees that examination is at a twofold fast opportunity to unwind the wrongdoing please.”
